RTPO visibility actions to International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland

On 18 October 2011 the RTPO members; ACC10 Cataluña, Exportaminas Minas Gerais and Agencia ProCórdoba visited the UNCTAD and the ITC.

The event consisted of meetings with authorities and officials from different sectors related to foreign trade of the International Organizations UNCTAD and ITC in Geneva, Switzerland. Both entities were presented to the RTPO. Programs of different agencies were evaluated and there was an exchange of information for exploration of joint activities.

UNCTAD – United Nations Conference on Trade and Development

The RTPO members were welcomed by Fulvia Farinelli of the Business Development Division of UNCTAD, who commented on the different programs carried out.

The meeting with the International Trade in Goods, Services and Commodities Division was attended by Mr. Victor Ognivtsev, Business Analysis Area, Ms. Ana Maria Alvarez, Director Economic Affairs Bureau and a team consisting of Ms, Miho Shirotori and Mrs. Denis Penello-Rial, Economic Affairs.

ITC – International Trade Center

The ITC is a joint body of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Its primary goal is technical assistance in trade.

The RTPO members were welcomed by Mrs. Aicha Pouye, Director of the Division of Support for Businesses and Institutions and the technical team of Institutional Building Divisions, the Division of Country Programme and the Division of Market Development to explore opportunities for cooperation.

The meetings were led by Mr. John Gillies, Senior Officer of the Strengthening Trade Support Institutions. The meetings were highly productive and an agreement between both parties was reached.
